Alliant Energy has made a $2 million donation to its Hometown Care Energy Fund, which assists Alliant customers in Iowa and Wisconsin who need financial help to pay their energy bill during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hometown Care Energy Fund is supported annually with funds from Alliant Energy shareowners, as well as voluntary contributions from employees, retirees and customers. Alliant customers can review income eligibility requirements and apply for funding through the Iowa Department of Human Rights website.

The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation today announced a $100,000 donation to the Iowa Food Bank Association to help feed the need of Iowans across the state who are affected by food insecurity during this unprecedented time. According to IFBA, food banks and the food bank network of 1,200 nonprofit partner agencies in Iowa are seeing up to four times the number of new requests for food assistance since the pandemic began. Iowa Farm Bureau Federation will also match up to $500 to any of Iowa’s 100 county Farm Bureaus that have made a donation to their food bank from March 1 through April 24.
