Des Moines-based Proteus Inc., a nonprofit that provides services to farmers in Iowa, Nebraska and Indiana, is collecting masks to help protect farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Farmworkers are essential workers,” said Proteus CEO Daniel Hoffman-Zinnel in a news release announcing the mask collection effort. “They contribute to supporting the food supply chain, agricultural economy, and help put food on our table.”
