The Iowa Insurance Institute, a not-for-profit association representing Iowa property and casualty insurers, has donated $10,000 to the Food Bank of Iowa on behalf of its member companies in a special donation to help Iowans affected by the COVID-19 shutdown. “The Iowa Insurance Institute is very excited to support the Food Bank of Iowa during this very challenging time,” said Aaron Pearce, board president of the Iowa Insurance Institute. “Our industry remains committed to helping Iowans.” As more and more Iowans struggle with the impact of the pandemic, many find themselves in the unfamiliar position of seeking food assistance, said Michelle Book, president and CEO of Food Bank of Iowa. “This generous gift from the Iowa Insurance Institute will have an immediate impact and help us provide support to our neighbors in need.” The Food Bank of Iowa COVID-19 Relief Fund has raised more than $2 million so far toward its $4 million goal.
