More than $93,000 has been awarded to 26 local nonprofit organizations through the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines’ COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program. The program provides assistance to support unanticipated needs that organizations may experience as they continue providing critical services or reimagining their “operational effectiveness for the emerging future,” officials with the foundation said in a news release. “We recognize the needs of our community are great and our nonprofit sector is stepping up in big ways to address the challenges we face,” foundation President Kristi Knous said in the release. “The Community Foundation is pleased to be able to offer this support through the COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program as we seek to make our community better together.” The following organizations received grants through the COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program:
