The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will be distributing more than $1.3 million in grants to state cultural organizations with new rounds of funding, the state agency announced on Monday. The Iowa Arts & Culture Emergency Relief Grants program reopened Monday to new eligible applicants; funding comes from the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Iowa grants are also funded by CARES Act funding through Arts Midwest, a regional arts organization serving Iowa and eight other Midwest states. In the first round of emergency grants last month, the department awarded $191,000 to 156 Iowa artists and 14 nonprofit arts organizations. More information and applications are available online.
