The Downtown Farmers’ Market is working on an online platform to further connect customers and vendors. According to a news release, the Downtown Farmers’ Marketplace Online is expected to launch in late May or early June. It will let vendors take online orders and arrange their own pickup or delivery location. All Downtown Farmers’ Market vendors are invited to participate. The portal will build on the vendor contact information available on the farmers market website. “We are excited to build out a best-in-class online resource that will help vendors and customers connect,” Kelly Foss, director of the Downtown Farmers’ Market, said in the release. “As we continue to practice social distancing, this is a doorway to help our vendors offer their products during a time when they are unable to sell at the physical Farmers’ Market location.” The Downtown Farmers’ Market held its virtual Market Meet-up on May 16.
