The Iowa Health Care Association Foundation has launched a new crisis relief fund to support Iowa’s senior health care workers in preventing and mitigating the spread of COVID-19. Iowa long-term care providers can use the fund to help prevent and mitigate COVID-19 based on their organization’s specific needs, whether it’s purchasing additional personal protective equipment or for additional screening supplies such as thermometers and testing kits to help keep the virus out of long-term care facilities. Any member in good standing of the Iowa Health Care Association or its affiliates, Iowa Center for Assisted Living or Iowa Center for Home Care, can apply for up to a maximum of $1,000 in a relief grant. Together, the members of these organizations account for nearly 700 of Iowa’s long-term care providers. The application form is available online here. The association has seeded the fund with an initial $20,000, and is seeking contributions to help continue supporting health care workers. To contribute to the fund, click here.
