ChildServe, which provides health care services and support for children, teens and young adults, recently announced its largest fundraising campaign has surpassed its $10 million goal. The Forward Together campaign was launched in December 2018. The goal for what was planned to be a three-year campaign was reached in 16 months with 168 donors, including 97 first-time contributors, officials with ChildServe said in a news release. “In the midst of navigating COVID-19, ChildServe supporters have proven that even when we’re apart, we can still move Forward Together,” CEO Teri Wahlig, M.D., said in the release, which indicated the campaign had topped $10.6 million. The funds will help ChildServe move forward on campaigns to open a pediatric behavioral health clinic, building a new pediatric rehabilitation unit, and expanding 24/7 nursing care for individuals with complex medical needs, the release stated. ChildServe provides services in Des Moines, Ames and Coralville.
