Des Moines Register: Muscatine Mayor Diana Broderson on Sunday publicly announced a citywide proclamation that makes face masks mandatory in indoor and outdoor public spaces in Muscatine where individuals cannot social distance from one another. The proclamation outlines certain exceptions to the rule, including when one is eating at a restaurant, playing a sport or has a medical condition or disability that prevents the use of a face mask. Local mandates on masks, however, may not be allowed under current Iowa law, a spokesperson for the Iowa attorney general’s office has said.
