Gov. Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Economic Development Authority are launching the Iowa Movie Theatre Relief Program, which will offer short-term relief to eligible movie theaters to assist in continuing or resuming operations during a public health emergency. The Iowa Movie Theatre Relief Fund will provide up to $10,000 per screen to assist nearly 150 movie theaters housing approximately 550 screens in Iowa with operational expenses. The state allocated up to $5.5 million of federal CARES Act funds for the program, which will be offered through the IEDA. The deadline to apply is Nov. 16; more information is available online.
