Des Moines Register: Residents and staff members of Iowa nursing homes will have to wait at least two more weeks for the coronavirus vaccinations that hospital workers began receiving Monday. Nursing homes, which house about 20,000 of Iowa’s most vulnerable people, are in particular peril from the virus. Brent Willett, president of the Iowa Health Care Association, said he was told the delay was due to a federal rule requiring states to have on hand 50% of the vaccine they’d need for their nursing home residents before starting vaccinations in them.
