Des Moines Register: State officials are relenting on their decision to withhold this week’s allotment of COVID-19 vaccine from five rural counties that allegedly failed to use at least 80% of what they already had, health leaders in two of those counties said today. The Iowa Department of Public Health informed five counties late last week that it would withhold this week’s allotment of vaccine. The decision drew criticism from several county health administrators, who said that they had used at least 80% of their vaccine, or that bad weather had temporarily slowed their progress.
